Hi! Welcome to my blog specifically for me to display my thoughts about that greatest and most fundamental unit of society - the Family. In the words of Marianne E. Neifert, "The family is both the fundamental unit of society as well as the root of culture. It ... is a perpetual source of encouragement, advocacy, assurance, and emotional refueling that empowers a child to venture with confidence into the greater world and to become all that he can be." Below is a somewhat outdated Christmas picture of my family. All the information I am learning and internalizing would be worthless without them. They are incredible!

Like all the great writers of this world with whom I aspire to be counted, I am simply taking an aspect of the world and sharing my thoughts about it. As I study the Family in my Family Relations class this fall, I hope I will gain new insights and understandings that will help me and all who know me. But, what good is illumination if it isn't shared? And that is the purpose of this blog. I will be using the miracle of technology to send my observations out into the world! Enjoy!
